Tom Eldert is a partner and head of the D.C. office of Trinity International (US) PLLC. Prior to joining Trinity in 2018, Tom was an associate at Morrison & Foerster and a partner at both Mayer Brown and Hills, Stern & Morley.
Tom has more than 15 years’ experience representing lenders, sponsors, contractors, insurers, government entities in all aspects of project development, finance, restructuring and M&A transactions, including multiple “deal of the year” transactions.
Tom’s sector experience covers renewable and conventional power, pipelines, hotels, ports, transportation infrastructure, manufacturing and retail, and impact investment, as well as expertise in political risk insurance transactions and claims, having represented both insurers and insured parties.
He has acted for clients in a variety of jurisdictions, including Afghanistan, Argentina, Brazil, Bolivia, China, Colombia, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Egypt, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Iraq, Japan, Jordan, Korea, Kenya, Mexico, Nigeria, the Philippines, Tanzania, Turkey, Uruguay, the United States and Vietnam.Tom also has experience advising clients on U.S. export control, sanctions, CFIUS and Foreign Corrupt Practices Act matters.Tom received his JD (cum laude) from Harvard Law School in 2002 and his BA (magna cum laude with honors) in political science and international relations from Williams College in 1997.  He is qualified to practice law in the State of New York and the District of Columbia.
