Jo Sykes is a Partner at Trinity. Jo trained and qualified as a solicitor at Clifford Chance LLP, gaining experience in the financing and operational aspects of projects in the energy and infrastructure sector prior to joining Trinity.

Jo advised developers, investors and financial institutions (including commercial banks, DFIs and ECAs) both in Africa and Europe. Her notable experience includes advising lenders on the Lake Turkana Wind IPP in Kenya, sponsors on the Azura-Edo gas IPP in Nigeria, sponsors on the Amandi thermal IPP in Ghana and sponsors on the Neoen Scaling Solar project in Zambia.

In addition, Jo has advised sponsors in relation to a number of solar PV and wind IPPs throughout sub-Saharan Africa, and lenders in relation to a series on mini-hydro projects in Democratic Republic of Congo. Jo has also acted for both sponsors and lenders in relation to the refinancing of various power assets across the continent.

Jo graduated from the University of Oxford with a BA in Jurisprudence in 2008 and qualified as a solicitor of England & Wales in 2012.
