Luke Muchamore is a Partner at Trinity International LLP.

Luke advises on project contract documentation, specialising in construction contracts, operation and maintenance contracts, LTSAs, power purchase agreements, concession contracts and ancillary documentation such as direct agreements and performance security. His experience includes projects across the energy and infrastructure sectors in Africa, the UK, Europe, the Middle East and China. He is also part of the Trinity Francophone team and a fluent French speaker.

Luke qualified as a solicitor in 2005 at Allen & Overy LLP, was a Senior Associate in its Projects, Energy and Infrastructure group, and worked in the London, Paris and Luxembourg offices. He joined Trinity in 2012 and has been a Partner since 2018.

Luke received his LLB (Hons) from the University of Liverpool and a licence en droit from the Université de Paris I: Panthéon-Sorbonne.

Luke is rated as “highly regarded” by the IFLR 1000.

  • Bangweulu Solar PV (Zambia): Advising the project company with regard to the development of a 50MW solar PV project in Zambia, as part of the IFC’s Scaling Solar programme.
  • Solar PV IPPs (Ethiopia): Advising two developers in respect of bids for solar PV projects in Ethiopia as part of IFC’s “Scaling Solar” programme.
  • Solar PV IPPs (Senegal): Advising two developers in respect of bids for 50MW solar PV projects in Senegal as part of the Scaling Solar programme.
  • Rooftop solar (Ghana): Advising a developer on the project documents for the installation and operation of rooftop solar systems in Ghana.
  • Kaduna Solar PV (Nigeria): Advising the project company on all aspects of project and financing documentation in respect of a 50MW solar PV project in Kaduna state, Nigeria.
  • Novapower (Nigeria): Advising an investor on the due diligence of project documentation for a solar PV project in Nigeria.
  • Sishen Solar PV (South Africa): Advising the lenders to the financing of the 74MW Sishen solar PV facility, developed by Acciona Energy and Aveng, in the second round of the South African renewable procurement programme.

Wind Power

  • Wind Farm (Djibouti): Advising the project company on the project documents and construction arrangements for a c.60MW wind farm project in Djibouti.
  • Wind Farm (Kenya): Advising the lenders on the EPC and operation & maintenance contracts for a 50MW wind farm in Kenya.
  • Wind Farm (Tunisia): Advising potential investors in a 30MW wind farm in Tunisia.
  • Wind Farm (Tanzania): Advising the project company on the project documents (including PPA and implementation agreement) for a 100MW wind farm project in Tanzania.
  • Gouda Wind Facility (South Africa): Advising the lenders to the financing of the 132.5MW Gouda wind facility, developed by Acciona Energy and Aveng, in the second round of the South African renewable procurement programme.

Biomass

  • Agroenergy plant (Tanzania): Acting for sponsor in relation to the development of a $350m sugar/power/bioethanol project in Tanzania.

Thermal

  • Cenpower IPP (Ghana): Advising the project company and the international consortium of sponsors in relation to the development, financing and ongoing construction matters for the 340MW Cenpower IPP in Tema, Ghana.
  • Azura-Edo IPP (Nigeria): Acting for the project company and sponsors in respect of the development and financing of the 459MW gas-fired Azura-Edo independent power project in Edo State, Nigeria.
  • Amandi IPP (Ghana): Acting for the project company in relation to the development, financing and ongoing construction matters for the 190 MW gas-fired Amandi IPP in Ghana.
  • Ondo State Gas IPP (Nigeria): Acting for the project company in respect of a 450MW gas-fired IPP in Ondo State, Nigeria.
  • Freetown IPP (Sierra Leone): Representing the sponsors in relation to the development and financing of a 80MW HFO power plant in Freetown Sierra Leone.

  • Mini hydro (Rwanda): Advising the lenders on a 5MW run-of-the-river hydro project in Rwanda.
  • Port Concession (West Africa): Advising the project company on all aspects of the development of a multi-commodity bulk terminal port in West Africa.
