Jemima Larbi is a paralegal at Trinity International LLP with over eight years of legal experience, supporting cross-border project finance and infrastructure transactions across Africa and other emerging markets.
Her recent experience includes:

• Assisted the team advising on the development and financing of a 340MW gas-fired power plant in Ghana for the project company and an international consortium of sponsors.
• Supported the team working with a syndicate of lenders on financing aspects of a major independent power project in Mozambique.
• Assisted on the procurement and negotiation of a 40MW biomass independent power project in Southern Africa, including assisting with the implementation of an IPP procurement toolkit and providing capacity-building support to strengthen government capabilities in tendering and negotiating power sector IPP transactions.
• Provided legal support to the team advising a development finance institution on the financing of a 20MW solar project in Uganda.
• Assisted in advising a leading African bank on a US$60 million subordinated debt facility to a regional energy developer for the development of a 223MWp solar photovoltaic plant and 526MWh battery energy storage system in the Democratic Republic of Congo — one of Central Africa’s largest hybrid power systems.
• Contributed to advising a regional development finance institution in connection with a USD 50 million loan facility to a commercial bank in Nigeria.
• Assisted on the financial close of a tranche financing in relation to the debt financing of a Kenyan internet company.

Prior to joining Trinity, Jemima gained experience at a major state-owned commodities company in Ghana, where she supported the in-house legal team on a US$600 million expansion project to boost global production. She also completed a placement with Ghana’s former Attorney General and current Minister for Railways Development, working on strategic infrastructure initiatives, including the Western Railway Line project connecting Takoradi Port to Kumasi.

In addition to her transactional work, Jemima has contributed to pro bono initiatives, including volunteering at the Legal Advice Centre, where she provided free legal advice on housing, small claims, and welfare benefits. She holds an LLB (Hons) from the University of Southampton (2017).
