Tom Sibert is Counsel in Trinity International’s corporate team. Tom’s practice covers the full range of corporate and commercial transactions, including M&A, private equity and venture capital investment, complex financing and commercial arrangements, joint ventures, and equity capital markets, advising corporates, financial institutions, funds and investors.

Tom spent a decade at K&L Gates, becoming a corporate partner in 2011 and building a cross-border practice for listed and private companies across a range of sectors, including financial services, consumer, technology and life sciences. His work has also extended to emerging markets, including an investment in a bioethanol project in Mozambique. Legal 500 has recommended him for mergers and acquisitions, where sources described him as a “brilliant draftsman”, and for commercial contracts, where sources praised the “quality and pragmatism” of his advice.

In 2016, Tom became General Counsel and Chief Operating Officer of Therium Capital Management, a global litigation finance and asset management business that raised over US$1 billion from investors. He led on the complex investment, financing and commercial transactions that supported a fourfold increase in the group’s committed capital, including institutional capital raises totalling £525 million, which included an investment from a sovereign wealth fund. He was also a member of the Management Committee and responsible for all legal and operational matters across the group.

Tom is a solicitor of the Senior Courts of England & Wales. He completed the Bar Vocational Course at the Inns of Court School of Law, and recently completed the Strategic Management Executive Programme at the University of Oxford’s Saïd Business School.
