Paul Biggs is the Senior Partner of Trinity. Paul’s experience is extensive and ranges across the power, ports/airports and other infrastructure sectors. Paul’s focus on Africa started over 25 years ago at CDC (Commonwealth Development Corporation) and he has become a renowned expert and regular commentator on the continent. Paul was previously head of Project Finance at Cadwalader Wickersham & Taft in London and, before that, head of the Africa Group at CMS Cameron McKenna.

Paul’s experience includes advising on many of the leading power projects in the region including the first IPPs in Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Ghana, Seychelles and Ethiopia and has also assisted in the development of a number of initiatives in the continent to facilitate the closing of projects including the GETFiT programme in Uganda and Zambia and the creation of the Renewable Liquidity Support Facility. Paul also acts on a number of corporate transactions where the underlying target is often an infrastructure project including, most recently, a desalination plant in Ghana and a thermal project in Kenya.

Paul is rated in the highest “Tier 1” category in Chambers for infrastructure projects in Africa as well as a number of other journals such as Legal 500 and ILFR.
