Tamila Nakazwe is a senior associate at Trinity. She has previously worked at the African Development Bank and the Central Bank of Zambia.

She recently completed a one year secondment at the Eastern and Southern African Trade and Development Bank (TDB) in Kenya.

Tamila trained at Trinity and has experience in the finance aspects of transactions in the power and infrastructure sectors in emerging markets, with a particular focus on Africa.  She has acted for financial institutions and developers on transactions in Africa, Europe and Asia. Her recent work includes advising on HQ Power IPP in Rwanda, Lake Turkana Wind Power Project in Kenya, Azura-Edo IPP in Nigeria and Gigawatt IPP in Mozambique.

She holds a Master of Laws degree in International Banking and Finance Law from Queen Mary, University of London. She wrote an LLM dissertation centred on the Economic Partnership Agreement between the European Union and Southern African Development Community. Furthermore, she holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Law and Humanities from the University of Cape Town, in South Africa. She completed her Graduate Diploma in Legal Studies at the University Birmingham in 2005 and attained a Legal Practice Diploma from the College of Law of England and Wales in 2006. Tamila qualified as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales in 2012.

Tamila has been a member of the International Lawyers for Africa (ILFA) Working Committee since 2013.
