Marysol Sanchez Velamoor has seven years’ experience as a project finance and real estate transactional attorney and holds the position of Independent Contractor at Trinity International (US) PLLC in Washington DC.
Her work has included the representation of lenders, sponsors and other parties in cross-border and domestic project financing transactions, including the development, construction and financing of renewable energy projects, other power generation and airports both domestically and in Latin America and the Caribbean.
She represented the United States Department of Energy pursuant to the DOE Loan Guarantee Program in several renewable energy transactions, including (1) the Solyndra Solar Panel Manufacturing Project, where DOE was the loan guarantor for a $535,000,000 loan for the construction of a $733,000,000 solar panel manufacturing facility located in Freemont, California; and (2) the Brightsource Solar Power Project where DOE was the loan guarantor for a $665,000,000 loan for the construction of three concentrating solar thermal electric generating plants in California’s Mojave Desert. Additionally, Marysol has represented the project company and the seller in power generation projects both domestically and in Latin America, including (1) the Burleigh Power Project, working on the sale of certain assets and rights relating to the development of a wind powered electric generating facility in North Dakota; (2) the Valladolid III Project, working on post-closing issues related to the financing and development of a 525 MW natural gas fired electrical power facility in Mexico; and (3) the El Salto Project, working on the contracts related to the development and financing of a hydroelectric power plant in Nicaragua.
Marysol is fluent in Spanish and is a member of the State Bar of California and the District of Columbia Bar. She graduated from Columbia University with a B.A. in Economics, earned a Master of International Affairs degree from the Columbia University School of International and Public Affairs and a J.D. from the Columbia University School of Law.
